About Us
JPI - Joint Performance Initiative is the regions first physical therapy center focused on surgical and non-surgical orthopedic conditions. Shawn Burger PT, DPT, CSCS of Burger Physical Therapy envisioned this center as filling the needs of discerning clientele throughout the greater Sacramento region. Emphasis at JPI is the delivery of skilled manual therapy, personal training and select functional exercise.
History
Established in 2023.
JPI opened in July 2023. Opened to fill a need for physicians and patients who need prompt and dedicated attention for orthopaedic conditions affecting most “joints” in the body.
Message from the Business Owner
Having been in practice for over 26 years,
I have observed many different physical therapy practices... JPI was created with a new model that encourages patients to receive greater levels of service while still using their insurance. In basic terms, we can offer more than other practices based on this focused system of delivery.
I wanted to create a clinic that I would proudly send my kids to.
This might sound overly simplistic, but many other options are limited by poor facilities, poor equipment, poor training, poor insurance reimbursement and poor want-to. They often emphasize home-exercise-programs while attempting to transfer the role of treatment back to the patient.
We believe that home-exercise-programs are rarely followed well… and although we will dose a HEP we don’t believe they should be the principal component of rehab. When you come to JPI, you will actually be treated. You will feel the difference!
Patients at JPI receive manual therapy, greater levels of gym and functional exercises and access to post therapy recovery modalities. Every clinician at JPI, has a background with clinical specialties / certifications in manual therapy, orthopaedic and functional exercise dosing.
